Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Grand Prime in India at Rs. 15,999. The device holds a fame of being first Samsung smartphone with 5MP front facing camera.
Are you a selfie lover? Yes, this phone is entirely designed for you. The device features a 5MP front facing camera with 85 degree wide angle lens. Samsung is boasting a feature of Grand Prime called Groupfie , it means taking a selfie with a group of people. The wide angle front camera makes it easier to take group selfies.
The features of the Galaxy Grand Prime includes a 5-inch qHD(540×960) TFT display with TouchWiz UX similar to Galaxy S5. The phone runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat operating system with 1.2GHz quad-core processor. Internally the phone packs a 8GB memory with 1GB RAM and supports up to 64GB of expandable memory via microSD card slot. The device features a 8MP rear camera which is a quiet common feature. Looking at the connectivity end, the device comes with Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS and supports 3G network.
The precise release date of the smartphone is not yet known, it is expected to be available from sometime in October. However, the cost of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is expected to be between Rs.15,250 to Rs.16,000(around $250) in India. The cost may lag Grand Prime behind the competitive phones like Moto G, Xiaomi Mi 3 and few other models. But for a selfie addict it would be an exception as Moto G has a bad front facing camera and Xiaomi Mi 3 camera gives an average performance.
