Earlier, we heard that Samsung has pushed out Samsung Galaxy S3 from the list of Kitkat receiving phones due to some compatibility issues. Finally, Samsung has fixed all the issues and developed Kitkat firmware to fit the hardware of Galaxy S3. Verizon has released a support document of Android 4.4.2 Kitkat for Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-I535. The official release date is not yet known.

Verizon Releases Android 4.4.2 Kitkat For Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-I535

The new Android 4.4.2 Kitkat will be a major update for Galaxy S3 users which bring significant changes to the features of the phone. Major user interface tweaks and few bug fixes are available for Galaxy S3 via this new update.

Android 4.4.2 Kitkat will bring the Multi-window tray to add more apps and access them the easily. The Isis Wallet will have some bug fixes and improvements with more Tap to Pay ways. The stability for connecting to Wi-Fi and SIM network has some improvements. The lock screen displays the cover file in fullscreen while you play music on the device and a major visual change to lock screen adds the option to access camera directly from the lock screen.

The update also add the following changes to Galaxy S3:

  • Google+ photos now available in Photos
  • Play Magazine is now named as Play Newsstand
  • The Music Hub has been removed from Samsung Hub
  • Google+ user location 4×2 widget has been added

S suggest, Samsung Music 4×1, S Bookmark 1×1 widgets has been removed. The update adds the support to Samsung Knox 2.0. Improvements in the data connectivity will let the users access the web with more ease.
